I left the following comment on the IDFG website:
Dear Mr. Jon Rachael:
I don't believe in managing elk populations the way you do. I don't believe killing wolves is the way to go. It seems like another very sadistic way for what you call "sport hunters" and government employees to get their kicks. Elks and wolves and rabbits and so on have been in constant balance without human interference. As Theodore Roosevelt said, "Leave it as it is. You can not improve on it. The ages have been at work on it, and man can only mar it." The government office should be protecting and conserving wolves, not killing them. Eating bovines is bad for people's health, so that harmful food industry is an exploitative ruse just like the tobacco industry. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is supposed to be preserving and protecting air, land, water, and all species including humans. You and the State of Idaho are not mandated to be a pawn of special interests such as "sport hunters" and cattle ranchers. I don't see how you explain or justify your profession to your children and grandchildren, if you reproduced without interference.
