Lobster poaching in the news again. Poaching is bad for all lobster fishermen, whether First Nations or those who arrived later. Not mentioned is that, like legal capture, poaching is most hurtful and brutally fatal for lobsters.

Watch this amazing March 2018 BBC video of shellfishermen rescuing thousands of juvenile lobsters off English coast due to stranding following heavy storms. They are placed in seawater tank to revive. Over two tonnes were subsequently released back into their habitat (to suffer whatever painful fate when they grow up).
