And I'm excited to announce that celebrities Moby, Alexandra Paul, Andrew Keegan, and Alison Eastwood have joined us in calling on McDonald's to stop allowing chicken torture in its supply chain. As part of a coalition of animal protection groups, we held eye-catching protests at McDonald's headquarters in Chicago. More than 130,000 people have signed a petition from a concerned consumer urging McDonald's to end some of the worst abuses, such as breeding birds to grow so large, so fast that many can't even walk without pain.
As one of the largest fast-food chains in the world, McDonald's has the purchasing power to end many of the cruelest factory farming practices. With you standing by our side, I know we will win this important campaign and greatly reduce suffering for millions of animals each year.
